These are glorious days we're living in my fellow Americans. We have been granted a once in a lifetime opportunity. Not every generation gets to harass, fight, & overthrow tyranny. To break a culture, Revolution is inevitable. Like it or not P2025 is revolutionary in its principles to break democracy. That’s why its authors warn of bloodshed to resistance. Please name me a culture that exists today that was not born out of revolution. My wish today is that Americans accelerate in their understanding and knowledge of where we are in our American Exceptionalism Culture and accept we ARE LIVING IN A FASCIST State. Americans are known to work together at warp speed and now is the moment for action. Solidarity is the enemy of the oligarchy. Oligarchs take advantage of time, here we are. Time is no longer our luxury it is our weapon.

My hope is to build a platform that's simply too loud to ignore. Not because it's the loudest voice, but because it's committed to evidence, curiosity, and challenging assumptions wherever they lead.
If I can contribute, even in a small way, to a more informed citizenry that's harder to manipulate, then all of this work will have been worth it.
Ther's a lot of good thinking here, but not about what to do in the face of how dangerous the administration is. Waiting for the midterms is too slow, and the Democrats don't have salvation in their pockets. What to do now, or how to operate outside the lines, or how to work together are questions others aren't asking.
The problem is so large that it's tempting to jump straight to emergency action, but I worry we've trained ourselves to focus almost exclusively on the next election or the next outrage instead of fixing the machinery that keeps producing them.
I'm not arguing that people should simply wait for the midterms. I'm arguing that we need to build power outside the election cycle too: stronger local communities, independent media, civic engagement, institutional reforms, coalition-building across ideological lines, and sustained public pressure that doesn't disappear after Election Day.
Whether someone sees this administration, the next one, or both as dangerous, the deeper question is the same: how do we create a system that's harder for any administration to abuse?

Here's one attempt at a how.
Last week I published a project proposing 14 structural reforms that cost little or nothing, all focused on transparency, accountability, voting, reducing dark money, and strengthening democratic guardrails. Instead of declaring my favorites, I asked readers to rank their top five. I weighted every vote using a published scoring method and released the results along with the math.
It's not a movement yet. It's proof that citizens will act as a standing force between elections, not just show up every few years, if you actually build the structure and ask.
After you linked Roadmap to the Future P2, I read it + left some thoughts there, because your People-Power Coalition idea overlaps with what I was trying to build in practice.
The difference between us may not be values. It may be that you're developing the theory of the mechanism while I stumbled into building a small prototype of one.

I wonder, though, about what you're "building." It seems you're continuing to focus in on what would be good to do rather than getting people motivated to be heroic, which is what I see as primary. Change how people think and it changes what they do!
I’m so glad to be seeing talk of action and peaceful rebellion. We the people should be preparing to meet the potential election battle with peaceful resistance. We need armies all over the country ready to protest and attempts to undermine election results. That will be our first serious battle line.
Much like the no kings rallies. I liked seeing them but I don’t think the timing was right, the cause didn’t stir enough people into action.
My main plea is no hatred, no violence. Violence is what will doom ice. There are methods for deescalating anger, we need to make the part of our everyday life.
Right now. It’s urgent. Americans need to contact their reps and demand saying no to the bill that unites Israel’s military with the US. That bill that Netanyahu brags was his idea. That bill that no one seems to know who put it into the paperwork.

It was actually not ICE.. it was even worse… it was Patriot Front, which is a ‘white nationalist’ organization. On the word you reached for… I understand the impulse. Uniformed force marching through the capital pulls on that association hard.
I'd never ask anyone to abandon the feeling: just remember one thing… this history is bipartisan and uglier than either side admits, and not new to one party. Especially w/ ICE.
Obama's ICE averaged about 660,000 removals per year for 8 years - advocates from Univision nicknamed him "The Deporter-in-Chief," and it wasn't conservatives who said it. And Biden's last year set a decade-high. The deportation math isn't new.
What is new: the VISIBILITY. Smartphones went from 30% of the country to nearly 96% since Obama, and TikTok didn't exist yet. SO.. we're actually not seeing more because it was hidden before… we're seeing more because the machine to show us everything just got built. What I have confirmed w/ the data, however, is that detention deaths hit a 20yr-high in 2025 and aren't slowing in 2026.
That part's a real escalation, not spin.
Once that visibility machine exists, it gets used to provoke outrage or a shrug depending what an outlet needs from you.
Both reactions skip the actual looking.
That's why I aim to build for systems, not parties. Whoever's next inherits whatever we let this one keep.
I can't promise it gets better. What I can promise… is what I'm building here.. isn't for beating the other side… it's for making this harder for ANYONE to do it, regardless of party.

Representation is ideological when our Constitution based representation on slaves who could not vote. It is baked into the cake.
Boomers turned politics into branding. It was their way of reconstituting slavery without the brand name, ie, distraction politics. DJT was playing that game by the 1980s while still in the Democrat party. Your failure to see age, racism and misogyny as central to today’s politics blinds you how things have been worked.
The Three-Fifths Compromise point is correct and it's not a stretch, it's actual constitutional text. Representation was quite literally built on counting enslaved people for power while denying them the vote. That's not ideology, that's the document.
Where I'd slow down is the jump from "our system has a racist structural origin" to "DJT was executing a coherent multi-decade racism-and-misogyny strategy starting in the 80s." That's a much bigger claim, and it needs its own evidence, not inherited credibility from the first point being true.
Here's the distinction I'd draw: the mechanism I keep coming back to isn't "which group is doing this to which other group." It's that any system without a countervailing force gets captured by whoever benefits from it, regardless of the label on the capture. The Three-Fifths Compromise wasn't uniquely a "boomer" project, it predates every living boomer by 150+ years. The rebranding you're describing (distraction politics, culture-war sorting) is a mechanism that works for whoever wields it, not an inheritance passed down by one generation on purpose.
I don't disagree that age, race, and gender shape how power gets exercised today. I disagree that naming those categories explains the mechanism better than looking at who benefits from the confusion, regardless of their demographic.
The US Constitution’s ideology is conveyed in its text. Splitting hairs won’t change that. Textualists are legal thinkers who want to return to original meaning of the Constitution, wiping out centuries of progress through a narrow interpretative lens. That would return slavery to legal status, strip women of the few rights we still possess in theory, and remand properties like the national parks to private ownership.
Boomers are in charge of this retroactive movement from DJT to Chief Justice Roberts. MAGA is their only original movement and even that is based in Reaganism and 1930s KKK slogans like America First. Boomers still make up the core of the MAGA movement, made even more pronounced by the fall of TPUSA. You can claim boomers have had nothing to do with politics for 40 years, but their record does not support you.
Even scandals like the Epstein network are primarily boomer offenders abusing Gen X youth and later, Millennials. You may not like the analysis, but it will go on without your approval because it is exposing the truth about who the boomers were over the past few decades without the Cold War propaganda machine of licensed and cable broadcast.
It is all about history and subsequent generations have an absolute right to question the generation that produced DJT, Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Clarence Thomas and John Roberts, just to name a few of the worst offenders.
Boomers got the world handed to them on a silver platter, a global superpower at the top of its game, and they destroyed it to the maximum extent they could in a single lifetime.
First, I apologize for the length of this comment. Whenever someone proposes a fix, I get excited as that is what I focus on. I added some meat to the bone of Rxan's list of fixes and will expand on these on my SUBSTACK "A View from the Cheap Seats, One Man's Opinion in a Sea of Pundits."
I highly everyone interested to review my posts on this topic and provide me your comments either pro or con, suggestions and assessment of feasibility. Now to Rxan’s excellent list.

3. Evaluate where we are now compared to where we want to be
4. Select those divisions(items) that we can control
5. Setup a plan to close the difference including a means to evaluate the progress
6. Assess the costs
7. Prioritize the goals, classify as: fully implement, partially implement and what we mean by partially. Be specific. Then finally what to defer and estimate until when.
8. Execute the plans in priority order
9. Assess and adjust then repeat steps 3 through 8.
• To demand institutions worthy of public trust and name the specific mechanisms that corrupt them
1. Let the public tell us what they mean by trust
2. Let the public tell us what the specific mechanisms are that need to be fixed to earn their trust
3. List the mechanisms in priority order and get the public’s input concerning what we have established. Adjust as the public input is received.
4. Perform items 2 through 9 of stronger communities for the specific mechanisms identified and “approved” by the public.
• To reward service over spectacle, across party lines, without exception.
1. Establish what we mean by service. Be specific as possible.
2. Define the specific service to be rewarded. Be specific
3. Define how we will reward the service. Financially, recognition a combination of the two or another way.
4. Establish the frequency of each service award
5. Assess and adjust the services and awards as necessary to continue improvement
• To measure success by outcomes, not slogans, and change our votes when the outcomes do not follow.
1. Set the periodicity of these announcements
2. Publicize the outcomes versus the goals that were set and approved.
3. Get public feedback concerning our assessment of the outcomes we announce and what still need to be done.
4. Adjust the goals as needed and publicize the new goals.

• To hold the powerful accountable regardless of the flag they fly, including the flags we have carried
1. Define the specific items we will hold the powerful accountable for – be specific
2. Define what we mean by accountable.
3. Verify we are assigning blame correctly.
4. Give the powerful the opportunity to respond and publicize their response.
5. Get the publics opinions concerning the powerful person or institution’s response.
6. Give the powerful the opportunity to respond.
7. Give the powerful the opportunity to address how they will correct their perceived shortfalls including the specific timeline for adjustment
8. Assess the impact of the corrections and repeat steps 5 through 7.
9. Reward the accountability progress made by the powerful publicly. Determine what that reward should be.
• To do the actual work of citizenship, not just the ceremonial parts.
1. Define what the work actually is.
2. Ask for public input
3. Adjust as needed based on the public input received.
4. Establish the goals as they apply to the specific work items.
5. Set the frequency and publicity methods for the recognition (I recommend billboard posts and a dedicated on-line site)
6. Determine the work progress and publicize it citing specific people and organizations wherever possible.
• To pass on a republic more honest than the one we inherited, which will require being honest about the one we have.
1. Ask the public what they demand for honesty and for whom
2. Condense the input down to the top five or ten most frequently cited demands.
3. Publicize these demands and get public acceptance telling the public how we will determine what we have chosen as the finalists and why.
4. Establish specifically who will be assessed with respect to the honesty requirements.
5. Devise a means to allow the public to ask questions of those identified and to get real time answers to their questions
6. Determine how their performance will be assessed and the criteria that will be used to assess their progress using the responses to questions the public is asking.
7. Determine the frequency of this assessment.
8. For those chosen who refuse to participate, publicize their names and institutions
9. Put together a document for the chosen people’s signature that commits them to abide by the publics demand for honesty in their dealings with the public.
Steven, this is exactly the kind of contribution I hoped this declaration would inspire…. Also I know that we need to talk and I'm sorry it's taken me a while… the publication is growing much faster than I expected but that's all the more reason to have people like you work with me on various projects and give input because the community is here to help each other and I'm not pulling my weight. You took broad principles and started turning them into an implementation framework. Whether people agree with every step or not, that's the conversation we should be having. It's easy to point at problems. Building a roadmap is the hard part.
One thing I'd add is that before we jump to solutions, we need broad agreement on the incentives causing the failures. Otherwise we're treating symptoms instead of causes. But I think your framework is a strong starting point for that discussion.
I hope people check out your work, challenge it, improve it, and build on it. That's how this becomes more than an essay. That's how it becomes a movement.

I can't say that I know what you're going through but I had multiple concussions and have dealt with the brain having to come back very slowly and I know it's frustrating… to be patient and look at the upside…. that you've already beat the odds…. My community is based on people that will create a series of many revolutions that I'm really going to try to change everything, but using this platform to give a voice to the community before the 2028 election
And may we start with judges. Judges are given entirely too much power. And not only that, most judges are very corrupt. supporting the criminals, rather than the victims. Not to mention the fact that we pay the judge's salary and they treat their citizens like trash. They interrupt them, don't let them defend themselves, and talk down to them. Let's start cleaning up the courthouses. They will only get away with it if we the citizens continue to tolerate that sort of abuse. And let me be clear, it is nothing short of abuse what is going on in most courthouses today in the USA.
Thanks Robert. I saw the documentary on Thomas Jefferson and what motivated him to write the Declaration of what his goals were and I tried to apply it to modern times so that is what you read… it's kind of a decoration from the tribal Warfare and independence from corporations in the donor class.
There is a lot of really good information and analysis here. I am going to do what I always do when confronted with a problem. I am going to perform a root cause analysis. Once I have identified the root cause of a problem, I will come back with a fix. A fix is a process not a one-step procedure. We start with step one, evaluate, repeat if necessary, then go onto the next step, etc. I encourage people to compare my fixes to Rxan's. Comparison of different perspectives is how we make things better.

So, as an action for us, spread these newsletters to every corner of the digital media world. Old guys like me can do our part, but our time is running out. Let’s make it one of our goals to engage with the 20 to 50 year olds and encourage them to be active instead of passive. Those my age remember the 60’s and the sense of activism that permeated our society. That activism worked, though it took time and was not without its short term failures. Activism today will likely take a different path and that path has yet to be uncovered. But until we begin trying different paths, we are unlikely to find a good one.

Representation is ideological when our Constitution based representation on slaves who could not vote. It is baked into the cake.
Boomers turned politics into branding. It was their way of reconstituting slavery without the brand name, ie, distraction politics. DJT was playing that game by the 1980s while still in the Democrat party. Your failure to see age, racism and misogyny as central to today’s politics blinds you how things have been worked.
The Three-Fifths Compromise point is correct and it's not a stretch, it's actual constitutional text. Representation was quite literally built on counting enslaved people for power while denying them the vote. That's not ideology, that's the document.
Where I'd slow down is the jump from "our system has a racist structural origin" to "DJT was executing a coherent multi-decade racism-and-misogyny strategy starting in the 80s." That's a much bigger claim, and it needs its own evidence, not inherited credibility from the first point being true.
Here's the distinction I'd draw: the mechanism I keep coming back to isn't "which group is doing this to which other group." It's that any system without a countervailing force gets captured by whoever benefits from it, regardless of the label on the capture. The Three-Fifths Compromise wasn't uniquely a "boomer" project, it predates every living boomer by 150+ years. The rebranding you're describing (distraction politics, culture-war sorting) is a mechanism that works for whoever wields it, not an inheritance passed down by one generation on purpose.
I don't disagree that age, race, and gender shape how power gets exercised today. I disagree that naming those categories explains the mechanism better than looking at who benefits from the confusion, regardless of their demographic.
The US Constitution’s ideology is conveyed in its text. Splitting hairs won’t change that. Textualists are legal thinkers who want to return to original meaning of the Constitution, wiping out centuries of progress through a narrow interpretative lens. That would return slavery to legal status, strip women of the few rights we still possess in theory, and remand properties like the national parks to private ownership.
Boomers are in charge of this retroactive movement from DJT to Chief Justice Roberts. MAGA is their only original movement and even that is based in Reaganism and 1930s KKK slogans like America First. Boomers still make up the core of the MAGA movement, made even more pronounced by the fall of TPUSA. You can claim boomers have had nothing to do with politics for 40 years, but their record does not support you.
Even scandals like the Epstein network are primarily boomer offenders abusing Gen X youth and later, Millennials. You may not like the analysis, but it will go on without your approval because it is exposing the truth about who the boomers were over the past few decades without the Cold War propaganda machine of licensed and cable broadcast.
It is all about history and subsequent generations have an absolute right to question the generation that produced DJT, Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Clarence Thomas and John Roberts, just to name a few of the worst offenders.

The hows:

1. Define Stronger
2. Assess where we are now
3. Evaluate where we are now compared to where we want to be
4. Select those divisions(items) that we can control
5. Setup a plan to close the difference including a means to evaluate the progress
6. Assess the costs
7. Prioritize the goals, classify as: fully implement, partially implement and what we mean by partially. Be specific. Then finally what to defer and estimate until when.
8. Execute the plans in priority order
9. Assess and adjust then repeat steps 3 through 8.
• To demand institutions worthy of public trust and name the specific mechanisms that corrupt them
1. Let the public tell us what they mean by trust
2. Let the public tell us what the specific mechanisms are that need to be fixed to earn their trust
3. List the mechanisms in priority order and get the public’s input concerning what we have established. Adjust as the public input is received.
4. Perform items 2 through 9 of stronger communities for the specific mechanisms identified and “approved” by the public.
• To reward service over spectacle, across party lines, without exception.
1. Establish what we mean by service. Be specific as possible.
2. Define the specific service to be rewarded. Be specific
3. Define how we will reward the service. Financially, recognition a combination of the two or another way.
4. Establish the frequency of each service award
5. Assess and adjust the services and awards as necessary to continue improvement
• To measure success by outcomes, not slogans, and change our votes when the outcomes do not follow.
1. Set the periodicity of these announcements
2. Publicize the outcomes versus the goals that were set and approved.
3. Get public feedback concerning our assessment of the outcomes we announce and what still need to be done.
4. Adjust the goals as needed and publicize the new goals.

• To hold the powerful accountable regardless of the flag they fly, including the flags we have carried
1. Define the specific items we will hold the powerful accountable for – be specific
2. Define what we mean by accountable.
3. Verify we are assigning blame correctly.
4. Give the powerful the opportunity to respond and publicize their response.
5. Get the publics opinions concerning the powerful person or institution’s response.
6. Give the powerful the opportunity to respond.
7. Give the powerful the opportunity to address how they will correct their perceived shortfalls including the specific timeline for adjustment
8. Assess the impact of the corrections and repeat steps 5 through 7.
9. Reward the accountability progress made by the powerful publicly. Determine what that reward should be.
• To do the actual work of citizenship, not just the ceremonial parts.
1. Define what the work actually is.
2. Ask for public input
3. Adjust as needed based on the public input received.
4. Establish the goals as they apply to the specific work items.
5. Set the frequency and publicity methods for the recognition (I recommend billboard posts and a dedicated on-line site)
6. Determine the work progress and publicize it citing specific people and organizations wherever possible.
• To pass on a republic more honest than the one we inherited, which will require being honest about the one we have.
1. Ask the public what they demand for honesty and for whom
2. Condense the input down to the top five or ten most frequently cited demands.
3. Publicize these demands and get public acceptance telling the public how we will determine what we have chosen as the finalists and why.
4. Establish specifically who will be assessed with respect to the honesty requirements.
5. Devise a means to allow the public to ask questions of those identified and to get real time answers to their questions
6. Determine how their performance will be assessed and the criteria that will be used to assess their progress using the responses to questions the public is asking.
7. Determine the frequency of this assessment.
8. For those chosen who refuse to participate, publicize their names and institutions
9. Put together a document for the chosen people’s signature that commits them to abide by the publics demand for honesty in their dealings with the public.
Steven, this is exactly the kind of contribution I hoped this declaration would inspire…. Also I know that we need to talk and I'm sorry it's taken me a while… the publication is growing much faster than I expected but that's all the more reason to have people like you work with me on various projects and give input because the community is here to help each other and I'm not pulling my weight. You took broad principles and started turning them into an implementation framework. Whether people agree with every step or not, that's the conversation we should be having. It's easy to point at problems. Building a roadmap is the hard part.
One thing I'd add is that before we jump to solutions, we need broad agreement on the incentives causing the failures. Otherwise we're treating symptoms instead of causes. But I think your framework is a strong starting point for that discussion.
I hope people check out your work, challenge it, improve it, and build on it. That's how this becomes more than an essay. That's how it becomes a movement.

division just builds hate which feeds on itself. It's easy to understand why our government pushes this narrative but it's difficult to understand why we continuously fall for it.
We worked for 230 years to make all your comments come true and the last 30 years to test them down. Is this a republic that is falling apart? Have we gone too far?
You are spot on. I am currently in the hospital enjoying our less than excellent health system. When I get home and have assess to a payment system I will support you and the revolution we do badly need

I can't say that I know what you're going through but I had multiple concussions and have dealt with the brain having to come back very slowly and I know it's frustrating… to be patient and look at the upside…. that you've already beat the odds…. And may we start with judges. Judges are given entirely too much power. And not only that, most judges are very corrupt. supporting the criminals, rather than the victims. Not to mention the fact that we pay the judge's salary and they treat their citizens like trash. They interrupt them, don't let them defend themselves, and talk down to them. Let's start cleaning up the courthouses. They will only get away with it if we the citizens continue to tolerate that sort of abuse. And let me be clear, it is nothing short of abuse what is going on in most courthouses today in the USA.

Thanks Robert. I saw the documentary on Thomas Jefferson and what motivated him to write the Declaration of what his goals were and I tried to apply it to modern times so that is what you read… it's kind of a decoration from the tribal Warfare and independence from corporations in the donor class.
Folks need to be reminded that democracy is hard work.

There is a lot of really good information and analysis here. I am going to do what I always do when confronted with a problem. I am going to perform a root cause analysis. Once I have identified the root cause of a problem, I will come back with a fix. A fix is a process not a one-step procedure. We start with step one, evaluate, repeat if necessary, then go onto the next step, etc. I encourage people to compare my fixes to Rxan's. Comparison of different perspectives is how we make things better.

His articles are well thought out and need to be heard by everyone who is interested or might be interested in making America all that it can be.
It has been shown that most of the younger generation gets their news from the internet including social media and Podcasts. So, as an action for us, spread these newsletters to every corner of the digital media world. Old guys like me can do our part, but our time is running out. Let’s make it one of our goals to engage with the 20 to 50 year olds and encourage them to be active instead of passive. Those my age remember the 60’s and the sense of activism that permeated our society. That activism worked, though it took time and was not without its short term failures. Activism today will likely take a different path and that path has yet to be uncovered. But until we begin trying different paths, we are unlikely to find a good one.
