I really need the help of this community... As we get ready to cross over two thousand subscribers, 1,700 of.which been earned in the last 100 days, I need you to restack this and engage in the comments and make sure to hit the little heart to like the post.... What will follow is a stream of solutions to the problems that I have so consistently pointed out in the past months... There's a preview in the post that gives you a clip of it tomorrow. And that's just the start , and I am going to be contacting people and leading heavily on your participation.
What I saw emerge from this weekend's conference... was so much more nuts than anything I could have imagined...
I TOTALLY understand why young people don't trust capitalism, And feel inspired to resist it with something that promises better... But I also expect them to do their homework... No one is disagreeing that the direction of the country has been going down for the most part...and for too long to justify...
But I saw this guy....Hassan Piker... known as the 'Kingmaker of the DSA... And he let you know who he is immediately- he seems to be (quite literally) Milo Yanopolous of the left. He walks around in the Chairman Mao tailor-made suit from China. And preaches , violence and radical behavior on a level that I didn't even think existed , and he's doing it under the guise of progressive... this guy is dangerous to people that are looking for solutions And I haven't heard anyone condemn him.
Thanks for contributing, Sterling... I built this publication because I truly believe under all the noise more people feel like you , then let on and I get that. It never used to be a radical thing to say.I'd like to hear the evidence before I make my opinion... Forcing people to 'pick a side' or cutting them off ....that is it's own kind of terrifying movement. That's not how adults should behave. What you want is very provably the thing that most people want.So the fact that everyone is latching themselves onto one party or the other loyally, even though they're not getting what they want is a mystery that needs to be solved. And that's what this community is about
Thank you so much Deb - After believing this for a very long time and being shocked that nobody was talking about it... I started the publication... When you go talk to people.. whether, you find them a good person... or not... never truly has anything to do with who they voted for, and this Go-No-Contact BS ... It is proactively Promoting segregation from half of the population as a good idea. People need to have more faith in humanity and some empathy for people that have been tricked or have been trustworthy , and some faith that discussion is the only way that you can convince them... or us for that matter...
This is why I have never "registered" with one party or the other. I don't vote for the PARTY... I vote for the PERSON! Sometimes it's a really tough decision, and I may actually vote AGAINST one or the other, more than FOR ONE. I have to stay true to my own beliefs and convictions, which means I examine each and select the one who most closely puts forth the kind of country I want to live in and be associated with.
TGK ThanKs for engaging here, And know that this is the process that everyone needs to start thinking about , in my opinion… And I know that it's a tough decision… I really believe that if people hold their parties accountable to represent them in their beliefs that we would actually get real representation… There are plenty of republicans that said no , when they sell trump as a candidate , and they're appointed with democrats that said , no , when they saw the primaries getting a rigged in 2016… I would call this values over party loyalty , and I think that a party needs to actually deliver something to get poyalty , but Blind Loyalty seems ridiculous , because a party doesn't make the person… And it's unfortunate , when the party does the bare minimum to be better than a bad candidate… as we've all seen over the past ten years very clearly. I am hoping posts like this lead to people demanding better because I know that this country has better to offer us.
This is excellent advice. I believe heartfelt, sane conversations about what is important to people would make them look harder at what they are doing.
Block them, Beloved. Everyone has already chosen Axis versus Allies. Block. They can google. They choose not to because they’d rather bitch and complain about shit that doesn’t matter. Block with zero regrets and all the flapping egrets instead. 🖤
“Underneath all this theatrical horseshit, there’s still a remarkably normal country.”
That is what I call the sensible center, and we need to come together before our friends from the Dipshits of America (DSA) drive us off the left side of the cliff.
The more polarized our politics become, the more likely it is that we will tear ourselves apart, much to the delight of our enemies, both internal and external. This is not some kind of football game. This is about the future of our republic, of free markets, and free peoples.
I have chosen a party only because of primaries. My party couldn’t lose me because I’m really not partisan. They also can’t keep me for the same reason. When general elections come I choose a candidate based on which one after my research seems to be the one who can do the least damage. I guess if there was a centrist party that’s where I
Would fall. I want the safety net restored, health care available for all and for our children to be educated. I don’t care which gender they are or which race. Oh, and I want term limits especially for Supreme Court.
Then why do you vote Republican if you like the person.. no matter what that Republican person says they will vote against everything on your list, no matter what and loyalty to being a republican.
If you vote straight ticket blue for by 2030 the Republican Party and the billionaires that own them will be gone from every election there after.
If you do not believe it read a little bit of “rational 1776 revival” it is absolutely free and ask me a question. I will be glad to tell you why straight ticket blue voting for three years will destroy the Republican Party and the billionaires that own them. And we can restore power to the people once again.
I just wanna tell you that i'm sorry that I missed the message you sent me about your book.. and I understand the argument, but Why should they be destroying a party and a democracy wheter one agrees or disagrees? Replacing blind loyalty to red with blind loyalty to blue cannit fix the underlying problem.
If a Republican candidate supports something someone believes will actually help working people, why wouldn’t they vote for them? If a Democrat does, why not vote for vote for them? Parties are completely funded by corporations and billionaires, who.... by definition.. are the 'donor class.' And if either one is serving donors, corporations, or party leadership instead of the public, why reward them simply because of the letter next to their name?
You say billionaires own the Republican Party. There’s plenty of evidence of enormous wealthy influence there. But wealthy donors, corporations, PACs and special interests also pour money into Democrats. That’s why my argument is about the incentive structure, not just which team currently benefits from it.
And strategically... imagine if 20 or 30% of Americans genuinely voted THIS way... because of the merits... neither party could take those voters for granted anymore.
Republicans would have to earn them. Democrats would have to earn them. In a democracy shouldn’t that the goal?
Candidates who challenged the donor class could actually be rewarded regardless of party if they voted without the loyalty.
Like I said, I’ll absolutely take a look at Rational 1776 Revival, because I’m interested in your argument. But you’re going to have a hard time convincing me that the way to break two-party tribalism is to give one of the two parties unconditional loyalty for three elections... There is no connection between promising governance and delivering it.
That sounds less like taking power back from the parties and more like temporarily choosing which party gets it.
Thank you so very much, Michelle… After the DSA conference this past weekend… I saw polarization that was shocking , and I have never been so sure that crossing that aisle is so necessary
It is so Absolutely true... I have always said that in person... And sometimes that message has crept out of the mouth of media , but I think if they get more ratings when they sell outrage... what you instantly realize in real life...is that we are not nearly as different as portrayed on the media or by the political parties recently... The strategy of separating yourself from half of the country based on who they vote on has the guaranteed reaction that you can't make peace.... I just can't stand by anymore and let people sit condone.Such a strange message.
How can anyone be SO TOLERANT that they tolerate and endorse intolerance?

This is not a liberal... People are being fooled. He's as reckless as I've seen.

This is very hard to do in online forums. I have tried. It needs to be done in person IMO, but we must learn to be civil again.
