Look, if you're scrolling through Substack on a day like today—October 2, 2025—and you haven't yet paused to absorb the sheer, gut-wrenching absurdity of it all, let me be the uncomfortable voice that yanks you out of your algorithmic trance. This morning, on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism—a day when Jews worldwide fast, reflect, and atone—a maniac plowed a car into pedestrians outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester, UK. He then jumped out, knife in hand, stabbing wildly at anyone in sight, including a security guard. Police shot him dead on the spot, but not before he claimed two lives and left three others clinging to existence in serious condition. Oh, and he was reportedly strapped with a bomb, because why half-ass a holy-day massacre when you can go full apocalypse?
