The United States Senate has advanced a funding package that would reopen the government—temporarily funding agencies through January 30 2026 while granting full‑year funding to select parts like the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Agriculture and others.
It also includes language to halt the mass firings of federal workers during the shutdown and provide back‑pay for those affected.
